Amuse Yourself

Ms Budget Travel has any number of dirty little secrets - one that she'll willingly share with all of you Gentle Readers is that she just plain loves for anyone to go anywhere. Although she must confess that as of this writing, she'd really like it if her leaf-blowing neighbor would pack up his high tech implement of leaf destruction and go rapidly. Ms Budget Travel apologizes for that outburst.

She really does like it when people go places and is even delighted for them to do things. To that end, she often writes for a variety of travel publications wherein she remains incognito and does not appear in her mistake-making, sulky-slovenly glory as Ms Budget Travel. Recently she did a piece on amusement parks. Ms Budget Travel confesses she has rather idiosyncratic tastes in amusement parks - she goes to watch people ride rides not to ride herself, and oh yes, she does like the availably of soothing drinks. She does recognize that some Gentle Readers might have different priorities . . . So she saved some links from her research so that you, your very own selves, can find out what's amusing in a park near you.

So, if you love roller coasters or must park your RV or need a place near water, Ms Budget Travel suggests you try these sites . . .

http://www.themeparklands.com/ gossip, news, tips, and links to almost more than anyone wants to know about amusement parks --- has hard news about park safety lawsuits.

http://www.themeparks.com/ a site run by complete theme park fans, it mostly covers Disney, Sea World, and other USA based "big ones." Most information comes from subjective experiences.

http://www.wwtravelsource.com/themeparks... a comprehensive directory of amusement parks all over the globe.

http://disney.go.com/park/homepage/today... is the portal of entrance to all things Disney anywhere they may be.

http://www.paramountparks.com/ here's a look at paramount theme parks --- they have a pretty good deal where you can use a season pass purchased at one of their parks to visit others during the period of pass validity.

http://www.4adventure.com/ is the web home of the nine Busch theme parks. While not as large a network as others, they get consistently great reviews from tourists and people in the travel press.

http://www.sixflags.com is the portal of entry for the Six Flags Theme Parks with locations throughout Europe and North America. It's a huge network with an array of amusing options. Many of their parks do not have "Six Flags" in their name.
