Travel Talk© Diane Goldberg under the original topic name
Ms Budget Travel has been wandering a different area of virtual reality this week and she's just now struggled to her chaise lounge with an invigorating cup of coffee to tell you all what's going on across the net.
From her recent e-mails from Budget Travelers and others, Ms Budget Travel has learned that: (Via a reader from the UK) The Empire State Building has reopened to tourists but apparently only on weekends and the lines are quite long. (Via an American reader) US domestic airport waits are horrendously long And conflicting reports (from two US readers and a Canadian reader) US domestic airport waits are short From various news sites, she's learned that: Recent groundings and searches of airplanes in the USA where a "suspicious white powder" was on board were the result of attentiveness, the powder was not anthrax but was packing powder or sugar substitute. And she's learned that people love to talk about travel --- some message boards where you can talk about travel are: Robert Young Pelton's Black Flag Café at http://www.comebackalive.com/. Mr. Pelton is the author of the World's Most Dangerous Places and other excellent guides on how not to be dead. This particular message board is Ms Budget Travel's favorite because of the general erudition and excellent information. The message board at USTourist.com located at http://www.usatourist.com/bulletinboard/... is a great resource for folks planning visits to the USA as well as for folks eager to share information about a favorite sight, place, or attraction. The message board at http://www.budgettravel.com/messages/ a budget travel site seems to have some good information and occasional lively discussions. At one time, India was the destination of choice for Budget Travelers, for many it still is . . .http://www.indiatimes.com/travel/mainmes... is a board focused on travel to and in India where some interesting questions are often raised. The Travel Anecdotes board off this page is usually entertaining. http://www.ignatzmice.com/Adam/framed2.h... for the voyeur on line --- this message board focuses on travel to Amsterdam, specifically the red light district. It's home website has the best links to real information about the city that Ms Budget Travel has found. Now, you can talk among yourselves. Ms Budget Travel will be back with you next week.
