Ms Budget travel regrets to inform you that there is not one web site that is guaranteed to always have the best airfares. She wishes there was. It would be lovely if she could just say this one is best, and be done with it . . . But, Alas!
All airfare searches are created unequal. Infuriatingly so. The site your cousin Albert use to get a good fare to Alberta may be the highest priced portal to a ticket to Timbuktu. And, it isn't even as if you can safely say, well this one is best for US domestic fares and this other one is fantastic if you are going to the Far East. Oh, no. That would be too easy for the Internet gremlins --- Alas! The search engine with the cheapest price this month may fail you next month --- you will have to search anew with every flight. The best way to get a good air fare is to search as many places as possible. In the interest of making, this arduous task a tad easier for those of you, who unlike Ms Budget Travel, occasionally think about things other than travel, here's a list of places you can take off from --- http://www.travelocity.com http://www.expedia.com http://www.orbitz.com http://www.cheaptickets.com http://www.hotwire.com http://www.discountairfare.com http://travel.yahoo.com http://www.travelhub.com/airfares http://www.travelzoo.com http://www.travelnow.com http://www.priceline.com Does Ms Budget Travel really expect you to search all of these places before you purchase a ticket? Yes, she does. Then you have another task. Search the websites of the airlines that fly the route you are interested in --- and GO TO THE AIRLINES VACATION OR HOLIDAY PAGE Even if you are planning to stay with Great Aunt Edna or you're flying into London so you can take the train to Cornwall --- check out the airline's hotel/ticket combination offers --- sometimes, not often, but sometimes you'll find that purchasing a ticket with airline included accommodations is cheaper that purchasing the ticket on it's own. This is especially likely to happen if you are a last minute traveler. Now, Ms Budget Travel expects you to bookmark this page so you can get back here quickly before you buy a ticket.
