You probably saw the signs . . . Ms Budget Travel keeps mentioning websites, she reviews several of them a month. She says it's all for you dear reader, she wants you to think that she loves you so much that she sits up night after night roaming the virtual world to help you make your way in the real world. Alas, that is not the whole truth . . . Ms Budget Travel is a tad dishonest, you see, dear reader, she's just a little bit addicted to this entire Internet thing. The warning signs were there years ago. Do you recall her constant assessment of this Internet café versus that one? Her loving descriptions of the Web Shack on Dean St in London before she moved over to the Internet Café on Leinster Terrance in Lancaster Gate --- well, they do have the cheapest coffee in London . . . and then there is Strudel in the Russian Colony in Jerusalem . . . Excuse Ms Budget Travel, she's working herself into a state . . . She's been doing other things with the Internet --- dare she confess? She's been corresponding with people from all over the world . . . and, dare she admit it? She's about to let you in on some of this hot e-mail. Mr. Vladimir M. Bykov --- e-mail addy sv@mavs.udmnet.ru is seeking folks willing to volunteer to teach English in Russia. The school is centrally located in Izhevsk. The host family will provide food and accommodations. http://www.izhevsk.ru/ will tell you a bit about the community. Mr. Bykov is clear that this is a volunteer position, while room and board are provided and cultural trips are arranged for the teachers there is no pay. Costs in Russia are very low People seeking a first job who'd like to work outside their native country should surf over to http://www.iAgora.com that on-line community is starting to provide space to link employers with people seeking international work experience. For working holiday help preserve the British countryside or restore stately homes check with http://www.naturenet.net/orgs/nattrust.h... to find out more about the work of the National Trust. And, without passing judgment, Ms Budget Travel wants you to be aware of something --- many people have pleasant dreams of volunteering for a Good Cause and getting free travel that way - well, kiddies, Ms Budget Travel applauds your altruism and hopes you go to http://www.volunteertravel.com/ or http://www.globalvolunteers.org/ to find out about volunteer efforts world wide --- but this is neither free nor budget travel. Placement fees and transportation costs on this sort of thing run to the thousands. Ms Budget Travel just wanted you to know.
