THE CONTEST

The Task

Find Ms Budget Travel anytime between July 26 and December 31,2000 and buy her a drink, it's just that simple - or simply that difficult.

Clues

Clues will be posted on the Budget Travel page and other Suite101 travel pages. They'll be on discussion boards and in the editor's articles.

Alternatively a clue or two may show up over at http://www.railpass.com

The longer the contest goes on, the more specific the clues become. If Ms Budget Travel hasn't been located by New Year's Eve, she'll let you know where to find her.

If you'd like a recent photo that's easier to use in tracking her, e-mail her at erev591324@aol.com and she'll send you a picture.

Rules

Ms Budget Travel must be outside of Mecklenburg county North Carolina for you to claim the prize.

Some black out dates will occur; they'll be announced on the Budget Travel page.

The Drink

(The part of this adventure that I think is most important.)

If you find Ms Budget Travel within the continental US, she would prefer a Tequila Collins or a Singapore Sling. She'll graciously accept a glass of white wine. She actually, for purposes of this contest, won't turn down a cup of coffee.

Do not buy Ms Budget Travel straight shots of tequila; Jose Cuervo is no longer her friend. It's not a pretty picture folks.

If you find Ms Budget Travel in the UK, she prefers Woodpecker in a bottle; she's also susceptible to a half of Strongbow. In re: straight shots of tequila, you really don't want to do that.

In France, kir, please. Straight shots of tequila? See above.

In Israel? Carmel Vineyards Emerald Riesling. Tequila? Even at that weird little place near Zion Square in Jerusalem that advertises the coldest Margaritas in the mid-east? No, it could easily start an international incident.

You may also go to Cairo and buy Arnvid, Suite 101's Managing Editor for Travel a beer, you won't win anything at all BUT he's much more entertaining than Ms Budget Travel and she owes him about eight beers at last count.

The Winner

The winner will be announced January 1, 2001 Like I'm going to do anything to prevent people buying me drinks?

Ineligibility The usual suspects --- editors, employees and their families of both Rail Pass Express and Suite 101 cannot win. Ms Budget Travel's lengthy list of personal enemies, short list of friends and family members and persons she regularly associates with in 3-D are not eligible. Staff of any publication she regularly free lances for are also excluded from prize eligibility.
