Hi again, last week we did the first of a series of articles on fun stuff for the kids' room, well this week we will be adding to that. The projects we will discuss this week will also be UNISEX. Remember though, use your imagination and be creative with your projects. Just a little creativity can personalize all these projects.
Start by cutting the legs off a pair of jeans, sew them together on the bottom, sew the top over a hanger, then sew pockets all the way down the leg. Even if they do not match, just mix them up and sew them down, leaving the top of the pocket open. This will make a great organizer for the kids room. They could use it for, rulers, scissors, pencils, markers, etc. BUT, save the left over material, use it to cover tin cans for other storage. Also, save the top part of the jeans, after you have all the throw pillows you need, (last article), stitch the bottom together, put an old belt through the loops, and sit an appropriate size flower pot inside, tighten up the belt, and use a little hot glue to secure the jeans to the pot. You could either use the pot for a plant, or just a neat place to put stuff. Since you have saved a few old tennis shoes, just sit one on a shelf with a plant sitting down inside it, for a really cute "KID LOOK". Keep watching, in a few weeks, there will be more articles in this series. There are so many fun ideas I would like to share with you, that it will take a series of articles. Start thinking about "KOOL" wall murals and fun things to make from cardboard boxes. I would love to have your input. Even if you have not tried it out yet. I am very open to new ideas and will be glad to try it for you. SO, please remember, we would love to hear any ideas you have on this subject or any other. TIP: Do you hate cleaning up the grater after grating cheese? I know I do! Well, end the problem, by spraying the grater with no-stick cooking spray before grating the cheese. It will be MUCH EASIER to clean. 'Til Next Week - Terri Landrum Go To Page: 1
