Hello again, this week I would like to talk about sprucing up the kids room. This can be so frustrating after they pass the toddler stage, because they are too big for Bugs Bunny and too young for adult stuff. So, we need to give them a cute, organized kid look, that will still work into their early teens. I will be writing a series of these articles, with lots of different ideas. The one we will be talking about this week is actually a UNISEX idea, you could just make a few minor changes to fit the sex of your child, or personal preference. Start by saving all those old T-shirts, with all that stuff printed on them, as they grow out of them, and save their old jeans as well. Those T-shirts make great dirty clothes hampers. Simply stitch straight down the sides in line with the existing sides, then cut off the arms. Stitch across the tail and hang it on a hanger, then on the closet door. They put their dirty clothes through the neck. You could also lay the shirt out flat, and cut a square, leaving the neck and shoulders. Now, stitch it together, stuff it and stitch the neck together, for a really cute throw pillow. You could also cut off the legs of their old jeans and make an adorable throw pillow from the top part. But, to make it more fun for them, on the light colored jeans and T-shirts, give them a permanent marker and have all their friends autograph them. They will love this stuff, and it is a great way to recycle. A little tip for future articles on this subject; save all their old Tennis Shoes, Fun snapshots, etc. Remember almost anything is recyclable in some way.
TIP: To remove those white rings on furniture, simply sprinkle baking soda onto a damp cloth, rub it into the spot and wipe dry with a clean cloth. 'Til Next Week - Terri Landrum Go To Page: 1
