PAINTED DOOR SCREENS

With the weather as nice as it is, I bet a lot of you are spending time with the doors and windows open. Would you like to pretty up all those screens? Here is a really cute idea, that cost practically nothing, takes very little time, yet results in something you can enjoy for years. You must start by thoroughly cleaning your screens. The best way to do that is by removing them, spraying them with a strong cleaner, brushing them, then hosing them off. Once they have dried completely, before you reinstall them, lay them on a flat surface. It is time to decide what design you would like to paint onto your screen. Using any print for your pattern, place it on the back side of the screen and trace your pattern onto the screen with a permanent marker. Now, remove your pattern, and place packing type tape over the back side of the area to be painted. From the front side paint onto the pattern area, a thick white glue. Just like coloring, stay inside the lines. Apply as many coats as necessary to fill all the holes completely, in that area. Once that has dried completely, remove the tape from the back and simply paint your design with regular craft paint or whatever you have available. Your only limitations here are your creativity. Just remember that wherever you paint there will be no air flow, so I recommend that you paint a series of small designs rather than one large one.

TIP: To keep your laundry lint free, add one cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle, and they will come out "LINT FREE".
