PICKET FENCE AND WALL DECOR

Hi Everyone! The project we are going to discuss this week requires a little more work, BUT, you will love it when you are finished. This project could be used in a childs room, garden room or almost anywhere that this style would be appropriate. You will need some stencils, and stamps if you like. They should be of outdoor themes such as; flowers, butterflies, dragon flies, bumble bees, birds, etc. You will also need some white picket fence. You can find that in most garden centers, it comes in rolls, and is very inexpensive. It is simply pickets attached onto wire, it normally is about 2 1/2 or 3 feet tall. You should measure the wall that you will be attaching the fence to, and that is how much fence you will need to purchase. Now, to get started you should paint the walls, preferrably in a pastel. Next, stencil your flower pattern at the bottom, just above the base board. Then just like painting an outdoor scene, stencil and stamp in the appropriate places. Next, attach the picket fence directly to the wall just above the base board, over what you have stenciled. I prefer to attach it to the wall using staples over the wire. If you choose to attach the individual pickets, I recommend that you pre-drill before putting screws or nails through the pickets. Now you have an awesome designer look for very little money! The very best part of the whole project is, you can do it yourself.

TIP: What to do about clothing that is NON-colorfast. In other words, a way to set that color to keep it from running in the washer. Place that item in a washer in cold water, along with about 1/4 cup of white vinegar per gallon of water. Let this soak for at least two hours, and over night would be fine. Make sure that this washing is separate from other clothing. After the soaking, wash normally (alone). This should set the color to make it safe to wash with other laundry.
