PAPER BAG WALLSThis week I want to talk about a beautiful design idea for your walls. This is a simple and fool proof project. It requires brown paper bags or rolls of brown paper, wallpaper paste, wall sizing, an exacto knife and some sort of stain. First choose the wall you want to cover, clean it well and paint the sizing right onto the wall. After that has dried completely, tear your brown paper into sections roughly 2 feet square. Wad a piece into a tight ball. Then un-ball it smoothing it slightly, spread it with wall paper paste, and secure it to the wall. Be careful not to smooth out all the wrinkles, BUT, make sure all the air bubbles are gone. You may even add a few wrinkles to the paper, by pushing it around. Apply the next piece the same way, overlapping it in random directions. After this all has dried, trim the edges with a sharp exacto knife. Now to stain it. I suggest you use ordinary latex paint, mixed half ad half with water. Apply that to the wall with a sponge. I think you will love this leather look & I know you will appreciate what it does for a room. Enjoy your new wall, and take your family out to dinner with your savings! 'Til next week - Terri Landrum
