PVC PLANTERS

Hi Again! It's almost spring and time to start thinking about pretties for your yard. The project we will discuss today is simple, inexpensive and very atractive. I think you will enjoy having these in many of places.

For this project I like to use 3 and 4 inch pvc. The sizes and shapes should vary from planter to planter, BUT for the sake of this article, I will give you specific sizes for your first one. Start by cutting one 18 inch length and one 12 inch length of 4 inch pvc. Then cut one 14 inch length of 3 inch pvc. (There will be 3 pieces, in each planter) Next, clean and prime the pvc. Once that has dried completely, spray paint it in your choice of colors.

After that has dried, stand them on their ends, together. With jute or any other small rope, lash them together. Make 5 or 6 wraps around them, at the top, then the same at the bottom. They are ready to put in the yard!

In the spot you have chosen, dig about an inch or so deep hole, large enough to sit the planter down into. Sit the planter in, and pack the dirt back around the planter. Now, fill the pvc with potting soil, as you would any planter, and pot your plants. These planters are a great way to give lifts and levels to your yard or garden. Enjoy your beautiful new garden and be sure to be back next week.

Next week's project is a secret! Yep, you will just have to be here! BUT, I promise you will enjoy it!

'Til next week - Terri Landrum
