Hello Crafters. Here is one of many great uses for old flatware. The use I will explain today, is making napkin rings from old flatware. There are so many uses for old flatware, I suggest you never throw any more away! Also, there are so many cute idea for napkin rings, that you will never buy another one, yet you will have OODLES to pick from.
This technique can apply to stainless steel or silver, the only difference being, that you will not paint the silver. This is another one of the "SUPER SIMPLE" techniques that I pride myself at teaching. Also it is very inexpensive, which is my favorite part, since I like to consider myself a "Dollar Saving Diva". Get ready, this is too simple! Simply bend this in a circle about the size of the left over cardboard from toilet tissue. When you bend this you should use an old rag and a pair of pliers. The old rag prevents this from scratching the surface. Bend it so that when completed, the ends of the flatware come out side by side, instead of overlapping. Next, if you would like them to be painted, simply spray them with primer, let dry, then spray them with the color of your choice. A little tip for gold spray paint; use "Dutch Boy" I hate to use brand name anything, but I have been doing this for alot of years and have learned that it is far superior, in color and coverage. There we go again with another "TOO SIMPLE" project. Next week we'll discuss more uses for old flatware. Be sure to be here. 'Til next week - Terri Landrum Go To Page: 1
