And for heavy backpacks, I opt for inexpensive plastic crates near the garage door. They fit perfectly, and it's a great place to deposit other things like lunchboxes in the morning so kids can grab them on the way out the door. If you still need some inspiration, check out the following Web sites: Momsonline has an extensive list of Home Decorating and Repair ideas that link to brief suggestions (from members) on kids? rooms decorating. Organized Home gives great advice on keeping kids rooms neat and tidy. The Benjamin Moore site has wonderful ideas on creative ways to use chalkboard paint in your home and your kids will LOVE these rooms! And the Everyday Decorator has kids? rooms themes (complete with how-tos and photos) that are far from everyday or ordinary! Finally, I must suggest that to achieve true success in decorating a child's room, be sure to have your child involved from the start of the process. Let them pick out as much as possible, like paint colors, curtain colors, etc. It'll make their room a fun place to be, no matter how much you can (or can't) spend on it!
