The long-awaited (okay, maybe it just seemed long!) live album of songs from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's legendary 1999-2000 reunion tour will be released on April 3. The album, "Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band: Live in New York City," will include 20 songs recorded during the final two nights of the tour, which took place June 29 and July 1 at NYC's Madison Square Garden. Similar to the set lists during the tour, thirteen songs will form the core of the double CD set, distributed by Columbia records. These songs are: * My Love Will Not Let You Down * Prove It All Not You Down * Two Hearts Are Better Than One * Atlantic City * Mansion on the Hill * The River * Youngstown * Murder Inc. * Badlands * Out In The Street * Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out * Land of Hope and Dreams * American Skin Due to public demand (or maybe a well-timed publicity stunt to reve up attention...but who cares?) a total of seven budget tracks (so far) have been added to this core. The initial "bonus" songs include: * Lost In The Flood * Born In The USA * Don't Look Back * Jungleland * Ramrod * If I Should Fall Behind In mid-March, the powers that be at Columbia/Sony announced a late minute addition to the line-up, a "bonus bonus" track of "Born To Run" (did they really think the public would let them get away with THAT omission?) So, at last count that's twenty songs....and less than a month away! (I've already preordered my copy at Barnes and Noble, and I'm sure various other sites are allowing for that too, so get your order in now!) As if all this great music wasn't enough, the new release will be accompanied by an HBO special, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, which will make its debut on April 7 at 9pm est. The show, billed as the first television E Street Band concert in history, will feature the thirteen "core" songs of the double album release. The commercial-free special was produced by Bruce Springsteen, Jon Landau and George Travis and will run until 11 pm. HBO will rerun the concert on April 13, 16 and 22 and, for those with HDTV, it will also be carried by DirecTV and EchoStar. Go To Page: 1
