Cult Telly Sites

This week it's all about the good stuff that not everybody "gets". Cult telly programs, those shows that inspire loyal, even fanatical followings without troubling the mainstream too much. Here then a sampling of some of the best websites dedicated to British Cult TV....

Star Cops: A true genre meld. One part cop show, one part space adventure. As absurd as the premise may sound Star Cops made it work, not the least ways due to the work of lead actor David Calder as near future detective Nathan Spring some cracking scripts. This is no mere space fantasy, there's real science at work here, and real detection work as well. The Anorak's Guide to Star Cops and the downloadable Star Cops guide have all the answers to your Star Cops needs.

Pushing boundaries that sometimes might be better off unpushed (the urine drinking family for instance...ugh!) TLoG still deserves kudos for going where few other sitcoms have gone before. When a new road invades the inbred community of Royston Vasey all hell breaks loose and hilarity ensues. Or so they tell me. Find out for yourself at The League of Gentleman fan site.

The New Avengers: Along with the suave Ian Ogilvy's fine Return of the Saint remake series came the cult classic New Avengers. Patrick Macnee reprised his legendary work as John Steed, aided this time not by Mrs. Peel but by the uber sexy Purdy (Joanna Lumley) and the studly , something for the ladies, Mike Gambit (Gareth Hunt) The New Avengers may not have reached the heights of the original, also a bonafide cult classic, but
