This short article is to remind you to do something in the month of October. Whether you sponsor an event, participate in an event or just share or receive some solid information about breast health and breast awareness, you will be part of the solution.

Starting in September (there are so many events on Long Island, that the events begin in September:
Walk for Beauty
4/6k walk through Stony Brook Village. Proceeds fund breast and prostate cancer research. September 18th.
Komen Race for the Cure
5k run/walk through Central Park, NYC. Proceeds benefit the Komen Foundation which funds education, awareness and research for breast cancer. September 25th.

Jump for a Cure
Skydive at Skydive Long Island, Calverton, NY.
Proceeds benefit the GIFT program at SBUH.
October 8th.

Cut for a Cure
Various Long Island beauty salons cut, color, style and manicure to benefit women cancer patients through the resources of Stony Brook University Hospital. October 16th and 23rd.

Fall Fashion Festival
Fifth annual event with "celebrity" models (oncologists, breast surgeons, nurses, social workers, attorneys)plus a "Your Choice" auction, cocktail hour, dinner, live entertainment and DJ.
Villa Lombardi's, Holbrook, NY. October 19th.
Proceeds benefit cancer patients through SBUH.
