Next, Demonstrate that you know how to operate a backpacking stove safely and to handle liquid fuel safely. Well, I can't really demonstrate how, so I'll do my best to tell you. When operating the stove, make sure that the connectors to the fuel and the stove are tight, so gas doesn't leak out. Also, keep the stove at a distance from brush. Use the same precautions as with a fire, because if the gas starts leaking out and the fire catches it, you could ignite the campsite in a matter of seconds. For carrying the fuel, try wrapping it in a towel or other tybe of cloth, and nestle it securely in your pack so it can't move. All right, that wraps up this merit badge. So, have fun on your hike.
