Camp Meals

Hello again. Today, we're going to plan out some meals that are perfect for camping. These meals can all be cooked over a fire or on a camp stove.

The first is called the cowboy meal. Take one pound of hamburger and brown it, then add in eight sliced hot dogs. Next, throw in baked beans. You'll need approximately two or three pounds, more if you have a large group. Once everything's warmed up, scoop it onto a plate or bowl and enjoy! (Note: This meal is also good if you dip cooler ranch chips into it.)

The next is chili-billies. This is one of my troop's favorites, and is very easy. Just get cans of ready-made chili (It's better to get the kind with no beans), heat them up, and dip Frito's into it. The amount of chili depends on the number of people eating it. You need about six to ten ounces of chili per person.

Next is barbecue pizza. You need one ready made pizza crust, ten ounces of barbecue sauce, one pound of cheese (Or more, adjust to taste), two ounces of pepperoni, two ounces of Canadian bacon, four ounces of olives, and any other toppings you might want. Put the barbecue sauce on the crust, then sprinkle the cheese over. Add on your toppings, and put it on a pizza pan, or any flat piece of metal. Now, put tin foil over the top and place on a very low fire. Keep it there until the crust is done and the cheese is fully melted.

The next on our list is cheesy noodles. You'll need macaroni noodles (The amount varies on how many will be there), one jar of tomato pasta sauce, fifteen ounces of cheddar cheese, and fifteen ounces of mozzarella. Cook the pasta in a large pot with water, drain, and add the pasta sauce. Next, mix in half of the mozzarella and half of the cheddar. Sprinkle the rest on top. Now, cover with tin foil and place over the fire until the cheese is all melted. You now have a hot, delicious meal in a few minutes.

Our last entrée is the tin foil hamburger meal. Tear off a large piece of tin foil and lay flat. Next, put your hamburger in the center. Place potato chunks, carrots, onions, and parsley leaves on it. Also, marinate the hamburger in barbecue sauce. Next, sprinkle a little bit of salt and pepper, along with onion flakes. Wrap the foil around it, place it in your fire, and wait for it to cook. Once it's done, you'll have a hamburger with delicious seasoning, along with it's own side dishes.
