Bring your Scout Handbook and your Merit Badge Pamphlets (get them from a library or Scout store). A watch is very important for telling when you need to get to your next meal or class. Bring your pillow, sleeping bag, and preferably a cot (they are much easier to sleep on for a whole week). Be sure to have rain gear, because chances are it will rain at least once in the week. Swim trunks are a necessity, you will be doing A LOT of swimming (bring a towel, too). Bring a "personal bathroom kit" including soap, washcloth, toothbrush & paste, etc. A 1st Aid Kit isn't a real necessity because any injury, no matter how minor, needs to be reported to the 1st Aid Tent immediately (more BSA policy). Hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen (SPF 15 at least) might be useful. Insect Repellent is invaluable when your under attack from the local fauna. Spending money is very important. Many badges require you buying something, plus you'll want to get soda, candy, and souvenirs. There's some basic information for preparing for Summer Camp. Now, since your prepared, you can enjoy the fun, sun, and food (that you didn't have to make). I'm leaving tomorrow, so I need to get ready. See you next month, and remember, video killed the radio star.
