Continued from part 2 "Brady," Mrs. Hillman said thoughtfully, "As you know, this farm is just too much for me without George. I'm selling it next week to move into an apartment in the city near my daughter. I won't be able to take Toby..." her voice weakened for a moment, as tears filled her eyes. Then, she finished, "You seem to appreciate dogs and you've been so nice to me. Would you like to have Toby as a gift?" Brady couldn't speak. Was he hearing correctly? Was Mrs. Hillman really giving him this wonderful, intelligent dog? "Oh, Mrs. Hillman," he finally asked. "Are you giving me Toby for my very own?" She smiled and took his hand. "I had hoped I could find a good home for him. And I think I have. In fact, I'm sure I have." Brady's heart swelled. "I will give him a good home, I promise. I just love Toby." He put his hand down and patted the dog, who looked up at him with soft, brown eyes. "I'll come for Toby next week, Mrs. Hillman. In the meantime, if you need me, just give me a call!" "Thank you, Brady!" Mrs. Hillman waved from the gate. "Thank you!" Brady called. He dashed down the lane. I can just see me and Toby at the dog show next year. He's already learned some of the commands. But I'll help him learn more! Maybe Mrs. Hillman will come see him perform. He'll be the best dog there! Brady stopped and looked at the sky. It was much lighter now and a ray of sunshine peeked through the clouds. "Wow! I can't believe it!" Brady said aloud to himself, "The storm is moving away and since Toby helped me with the calves, I still have time to see the dog show!"
