December’s Book Bargains of the Month: (Note: Prices do NOT include S&H)

Since my previous list of bargain books left out the online giant, Amazon, I decided to concentrate my efforts here this month. All books ship with 2-3 days, so you still have time to order some last minute holiday gifts. Otherwise, get out your Christmas cash and gift certificates and stock up on some cold weather reading. While you are at it, please join in my discussion on your favorite not to be missed books and vote in my poll. That way I will be able to tailor my articles to my readers’ tastes. Happy Holidays and a safe New Year to all.

Amazon Bargains: To purchase any of these books right now, just click on the following link.

1. Paradise by Toni Morrison (HB) From one of Oprah Winfrey’s favorite authors and the 1993 winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature comes a tale infused with a bit of the supernatural. Set in 1976 in the all-black town of Ruby, OK a small group of unconventional women will rattle the town. $6.00

2. Violin by Anne Rice (HB) The best-selling author of Interview with the Vampire is back, this time with a ghost story about a musician named Stefan. $4.99

3. No Safe Place by Richard North Patterson (HB) I first discovered this author when I read Silent Witness a few years ago. He writes thrilling legal dramas in the same vein as John Grisham. $6.99

4. The Cat Who Could Read Backwards (HB) by Lilian Jackson Braun. This is the first in a series that now includes nineteen books about the antics of a mystery-solving cat named Koko. Although, I haven’t read any in this series, the book received some great reviews. $5.99

5. Three Complete Novels ‘A’ is for Alibi, ‘B’ is for Burglar and ‘C’ is for Corpse by Sue Grafton (HB) These are the first three in the series of alphabet sleuthing novels starring Kinsey Malone. This author is always a light engaging read. Start from the beginning at this special price and you’ll be hooked. $12.99

6. For the child in your life, don’t miss the special edition of Andersen’s Fairy Tales (Children’s Classics) by Hans Christian Andersen (HB). No library would be complete without this collection including 'The Ugly Duckling" and "The Princess and the Pea". $4.19

7. Finally, I found a great boxed collection of some recent bestsellers called Vintage Modern Classics (PB’s) which includes "Memoirs of a Geisha", "Snow Falling on Cedars", "A Lesson Before Dying", "Cold Mountain", "The Reader" and "Midwives". A bit pricey at $55 but less than $10 per book!

Oh, what a great selection of holiday books!
Personally, I like the collection of Hans
Christian Anderson's Fairy Tales, and had
recently picked up a copy for myself.

I am looking forward to you ...
