Who do you think are the best writers of the 20th Century?
Who changed the way you look at writing, at the world, at yourself? Name your top three, and help Writer's Digest compile a special feature on the 100 Best Writers of the 20th Century.
Writers must be 20th-Century writers. Writers can have worked in any medium (fiction, poetry, nonfiction, journalism, screenplays, stage plays - you name it). They don't have to be English-speaking writers, though their work will be judged on English translations. Writers will be selected based on 1) their influence on the writing world; 2) the quality of their work; 3) the degree to which their writing exhibits originality or experimentation.
Nominate up to three writers, and include a brief explanation of why they should be included in the list. We might quote your comments in the November 1999 issue of Writer's Digest or on our web site.
