Mystery novels were my first love in reading. I was married very young
and my (then) husband
was doing the research for his masters degree in ornithology. We spent
seven months on the Brandypot islands in the middle of the St.
Lawrence River. (Sounds romantic, doesn't it?) We were the only people
living on those islands although in the summer we had many visitors who
came ashore while sailing along the St. Lawrence.
I spent most of the day reading. Reading. Reading. Mystery after mystery after mystery. Before that, I had read what I could get my hands on but I grew up in a very rural area and the nearest library burned down when I was seven so there wasn't a lot of choice. I have written a couple of mystery novels, which mercifully weren't ever accepted anywhere by a publisher. This is who I read and some links to information on these classic writers:
