Subjective Supplements Review

Most of us take some kind of sports supplement to get an edge. Nothing wrong in that - it's TOUGH getting 300 grams of protein a day, day in and day out, without protein drinks! Likewise, the sad truth is that the overall quality of our everyday foods have gone downhill. The need for supplemental vitamins, and anti-oxidants in particular, climbs side by side with preservatives, artificial coloring agents, air pollution, and other things you would rather not even think about.

The bottom line is at in 99 cases out of 100, we need some kind of supplements to ensure optimal progress - and health, for that matter! Health is a prerequisite for bodybuilding progress, so it's in your interest to keep your immune system primed and ready to fend off whatever nasty things modern life throws at you!

Let's talk about some different supplements that you may or may not have tried, or are planning to try. Keep in mind that these opinions are strictly subjective - You might disagree, but at least you'll know my take on the matter.

Labrada Lean Body
This is a serving-sized (82 grams) powder that lingers in the gray area between a meal replacement powder and a pure protein supplement. At almost twice as much protein (45 grams) as carbs, it's hardly a meal replacement for someone trying to bulk up. It does, however, work excellently as such when you're on a diet and wants to keep the carbs relatively low.

What makes this particular brand stand out is that somebody, finally, made something nutritiously correct really taste good. I mean, not just aspartame-sweet "Ok" or "tolerable", as we've grown used to over the years, but actually taste like a real, steakhouse-style milkshake! If you don't believe me, blend a packet with some lowfat milk and crushed ice, and tell me if you can tell the difference. Labrada comes in 3 flavors - Dutch Chocolate, Ice Cream Vanilla, and Wild Berry. I've tried all three, and my favorite is Dutch Chocolate. The recommended price (yeah, right!) is $57 for 20 packets, but nobody sells them for more than $39.95. If you chase around on the web, you can get down to the $33-level, but then you have to pay shipping.

Met-Rx Original
Met-Rx is one of the former greats that must have blown away most of their budget on advertising, but you must admit - they DID get a foot in the door and then some!
