Shopping on E-bay

If you have never shopped on e-Bay, you have an exciting experience awaiting you. You will be amazed at what can be found, but we will concentrate on clothing for now.

There are several ways to find what you are looking for. I find the easiest way is to first go to the Clothing, Shoes and Accessories area. From there I may type in what I am looking for, such as men's big and tall. This will bring up a number of items as well as a number of e-Bay stores carrying men's big and tall. Your best bargains are usually found in the regular listings, but the stores offer a wider variety of items and, nearly always, new items.

The store listings are after the regular e-Bay listings. Many times when you look at an individual item on e-Bay, you will notice on the right a link for the sellers store. Click there and check if they seem to carry the type of thing you are interested in. If they do, select them as a favorite to make it easy to come back regularly to shop.

Another way to get around on e-Bay is to start again at the Clothing, Shoes and Accessories, but this time go to the listing on the left side of the screen and select the appropriate group; women's clothing, men's clothing, boys, girls. Under Women's clothing you can find a listing for Plus Sizes; start there. Then you can search by type of item, by size, or by brand name. Lower on the left side list is a a group of links under the heading Shop e-bay Stores. If you click on "See all matching stores" you will get a listing of all the e-Bay stores carrying Women's Plus Sizes. As of today there are 160 pages of stores with 25 stores per page. You should be able to find something right for you with that many choices.

Within the e-Bay listings you can find items offered almost nowhere else. There are dresses up to size 10X, men's pants with a 72 inch waist, 10X t-shirts, dress shirts with 38/39 sleeves. There are many items not carried in your neighborhood department stores and the prices are much better than the specialty stores.

Certain categories have an item finder on the left that will help you sort down to a more useable list. For example, go to Men's Clothing, then click on the listing for Jeans. When the page comes up you will find the "Men's Jeans, Pants & Shorts Finder" on the left. Plug in as many of the selections as you want. Just giving waist and inseam will give you a broader selection than if you limit it to Cargo or Corduroy. If you also limit the search by a keyword, such as Brown or Cotton, the list will narrow again. For example, I did a broad search for waists of >48 and inseams of >36 (waist 48 and up, inseams 36 and up). Today there were 48 listings meeting those criteria.
