During the courtship the male Eagle Owl has display flights, postures, bobs and weaves and does wing clapping. The courting males often bring food to the female. Eagle Owl breeding takes place from March to September.
It nests in crevices, small caves, hollow trees and old nests of other birds. It can live as a solitary bird, in pairs, or small groups. It roosts in larger trees and prefers sitting in the shade. The female lays two creamy white eggs with soft coloration. The incubation period is about 37 days. Their coloring, ear tufts and calls help owls recognize their own species. Their call is a low, brusque hooting call sounding like hryu hryu hooo. In some cases the Eagle Owl can become tame. Go To Page: 1 2
