Black Throated Blue Warblerfruits, seeds, nectar and tree sap especially in the winter months are on their menu.During the warm summer months their diet will consist of insect pests such as moths, tent caterpillars, aphids, beetles and flies. Feeding behavior usually consists of gleaning of leaves to catch insects and grasshoppers. After breeding, some Grosbeaks feed together or mix with other seed-eating birds like sparrows. These birds are common spring migrants often seen in parks and yards as they have flown from their winter quarters in Cuba, the Bahamas and other islands of the Caribbean to the Eastern United States and Canada. It is important for property owners to allow under story in wooded areas on their property.
