Long Billed Dowitcher


The Long Billed Dowitcher builds its nest small rise in wet meadow, usually near shallow water and lines it with leaves and grass. The call of the dowitcher is a low pitched series of whistles.

Similar Species of bird are the Godwits, Wilson's snipe and the Short Billed Dowitcher.

This bird is observed on the east and west coasts of North America. Also it is seen in the north, central and eastern areas of Canada...
