The Longest Yard

Jun 7, 2005 - © James C. Hess

"The Longest Yard", the remake? Not at all. I liked it for what it was worth, which is simply entertainment.

"The Longest Yard" makes no effort to hide a certain truth about itself: It is intertainment. Nothing more. If you want something more, something else, seek out one of the self-important offerings from Cannes this year. If you want to watch a bunch of actors, including the aforementioned Burt Reynolds, have a good time on the big screen, then go see "The Longest Yard".

And these days, given what is available on the big screen, you would be wise to do so.
