Service with a SmileYou might say, "Yeah, but a bookmobile, or for that matter, a huge library, can't possibly stock everything." That's right, and I freely admit it! Try to find the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle or Icelandic sagas at most local libraries. I ran into many not-in-stock books during the pursuit of my history degrees. I had a librarian smile in anticipation as I walked in to my base library (Whiteman Air Force Base, MO). She was even disappointed when I couldn't give her a good inter-library loan challenge. If we don't have something you want, we really enjoy finding it for you. When you go into your library looking for something to read or research, don't just browse the shelves and leave disappointed. Ask someone for help. We enjoy our jobs, and we get paid for helping people. Put us to work for you!
