Chapter 2: Yoga of Knowledge - Verse 66 & 67

There can be no peace without transcedental consciousness.
Verse 66:

"nasti buddhir ayuktasya na cayuktasya bhavana na cabhavayatah santir asantasya kutah sukham"

(66) One who is not in transcendental consciousness can have neither a controlled mind nor steady intelligence, without which there is no possibility of peace. How can there be any happiness without peace?
Explanation: A person who does not lay the fruits of his penance and effort at the feet of the Lord, does not have a steady mind. A wavering mind brings unrest. There is no peace.
There can be no happiness without peace. One who is engaged without a relationship with Krishna is certainly always in distress and is without peace.

Verse 67:

"indriyanam hi caratam yan mano 'nuvidhiyate tad asya harati prajnam vayur navam ivambhasi"

(67) A boat on the water is swept away by a strong wind. Likewise, even one of the senses on which the mind focuses can carry away a man's intelligence.
Explanation: All the senses should be engaged in the service of the Lord. Even when one sense strays away for self gratification, the result is failure. The person is swept away from his path like the boat that os swept away by strong winds.
The quest to conquer the senses and free oneself from the bondage of material world should be accompanied with renouncing everything at the feet of Lord Krishna.

All of the senses must be engaged in the service of Lord Krishna.
