Verse 33:
"yesam arthe kanksitam no
rajyam bhogah sukhani ca
ta ime 'vasthita yuddhe
pranams tyaktva dhanani ca "
(33)
Those for whose sake we desire empire, enjoyment and pleasures; stand before us renouncing their wealth and life.
Explanation: Arjuna believed that kingdom and wealth must be shared with relatives and friends.
Unfortunately, his own cousins were arrayed against him in the battle field. Thus victory and empire meant nothing to him now.
Verse 34:
"acaryah pitarah putras
tathaiva ca pitamahah
matulah svasurah pautrah
syalah sambandhinas tatha
"
(34) I see teachers, fathers, sons and also grandfathers, uncles, fathers-in-law and grandsons, brothers-in-law and other kinsmen -
Explanation:
The fears in Arjuna's mind comes to light. It was a battle where there were teachers, fathers, sons, grandsons, fathers-in-law and other kinsmen were involved.
If there had to victory, it had to be at the cost of the loss of dear ones.
Arjuna speaks out his mind to the Lord.
