Fear creeps into the mind of Duryodhana, the eldest of the Kauravas. He continues to list the valiant men in the noble Pandava army. His Guru and Commander of the Kaurava army, Drona listens patiently. Explanation: By the son of Subhadra (by Arjuna), Duryodhana refers to Abhimanyu, a valiant archer.Yudhamanyu, Uttamaujas and the sons of Draupadi would give a tough fight in the battle field. Verse 7: "asmakam tu visista ye tan nibodha dvijottama nayaka mama sainyasya samjnartham tan bravimi te" (7)O best of the Brahmanas! Let me appraise you of those who are important on our side - the commanders of my army. Explanation: Duryodhana, refers to his teacher and commander in chief as 'The best of the Brahmanas!' He begins to name the great men who were fighting on his side. The next verse will throw light on the valiant men, who were fighting for Duryodhana (the Kauravas). I have not given a detailed description for all the kings mentioned here, for it will slow the advancement into subsequent chapters - where the divine teachings actually begin.
