Farewell Friends

While I hope I never have to go through this fiasco again (although I know I will), I did learn a great deal. I think the most important thing I learned was that the unknown is terrifying. Steve was more worried about what he was leaving behind - in the form of troubles for his family to deal with. Every little thing we did helped ebb those fears. I also learned that a hand resting gently and lovingly on a loved one's tired brow or arm can provide more solace than I ever imagined.
