If you surf, you'll find there are a bewildering number of home business opportunities on-line; some of them authentic, some of them scams. You can evaluate these opportunities at the Better Business Bureau (R), your department of consumer affairs, and also by asking around. You can also check out Home Business Magazine (R) for an excellent article, Scam Scan - How to Avoid Home Business Scams, written by Terry Thomas.

Investing some time and energy in just choosing a home business won't guarantee your success, but it may save you money, and even a few headaches, in the long run.
