Thrifty Weddings
Enter the high pressure salesperson. And the wedding industry isn't without its share of outright scams and con artists, either. Prospective brides and grooms would do well to read about some of the better-known tactics in Wedding Bills, at CBC Marketplace.
Most people do end up spending more than they had intended for their wedding. Careful planning can help keep all those wedding bills within reason, however. If you're planning your big day, try to remember that a less elaborate wedding doesn't lessen the strength of the commitment that's being made.
And above all, remember that a wedding you can actually afford won't leave you with an overwhelming mountain of debt when the party is over.
