“You’ll regret it,” he said. “You’re only a freshman – you’ll grow.”
I don’t like admitting that I have regrets at such a young age. In fact, it drives me crazy, so crazy that I still picture myself catching the winning touchdown from my best friend (who was our team’s quarterback) over and over again. Every time I watch a football game I go crazy on the inside. The same thing happens to me when I watch movies – especially terrible movies. I regret that I’m not at home writing my own movie after I see these films. I then regret the excuses I made to stop writing. I regret being lazy. Although I can never go back and play football again, I can still write a script of which I can be proud. I can still try. I am still trying. I encourage you to keep trying and to make sure you don’t sit back one day and regret having never written that movie idea you had some twenty-years ago. It’ll eat away at your subconscious and you’ll never be able to relax during those mindless football games on television those lazy Sunday afternoons. Have a great Thanksgiving! I’m off… Please e-mail me at ttime99@suite101.com.
