Sunset Bay Inn

I was out and about a couple of weekend's ago spending a lovely day with my mom and brother in St. Petersburg, Florida celebrating Mother's Day.

We had planned to go over and spend the afternoon at the Pier, one of St. Petersburg's oldest attractions. You can shop at the numerous stores, eat at the famous Columbia Restaurant or investigate the upstairs aquarium. Parking is limited at the Pier itself but there are trolley's running continuously if you choose to park at the parking garage or if you decide to walk and run out of steam!

After spending a leisurely day of strolling through the brick paved city, looking through shop windows in quaint stores, relaxing on a park bench, watching the trolley's transport visitors back and forth to the Pier, having a delightful lunch at Cha Cha Coconuts at the Pier and basking in the sun and fresh breeze watching the sailboats and jet skis traverse the bay, we decided to take a "tour" of the lovely, upscale neighborhood nearby that is full of vintage homes, all beautifully restored.

Always on the lookout for places of interest to write about, we came across the Sunset Bay Inn Bed & Breakfast.

I had my brother pull over so I could take note of this beautiful inn and the surrounding neighborhood that is so quiet and peaceful. The house sits amid a perfectly manicured lawn framed by lush tropical foliage and flowers.

There are 8 impeccably decorated rooms and if you look at the picture on the main page, as it scrolls you'll see a separate carriage house where the Carmel Suite and Monterey Suite are located. Besides offering seclusion and privacy, these suites include a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave for your convenience.

Take a moment to enjoy the main tour to get an idea of the elegance offered at Sunset Bay and be sure to take a look at each of the available rooms and suites. They are truly lovely.

As an added convenience, a full continental breakfast is served each morning along with coffee and tea and fresh baked goods are available throughout the day.

When lunch time arrives, you are within walking distance to nearby Baywalk where you'll find seven restaurants including Johnny Rocket's, Dish, Adobo Grill, Dan Marino's Town Tavern plus a Muvico theatre (20 cinemas). You can also spend plenty of time looking for a perfect souvenir, browsing through numerous retail stores and gift and specialty shops all located in this one large area.
