Biscuit Hill Bed and Breakfast - Texas

© Vickie Ferguson

This month we're traveling to the great state of Texas. Yee haw!!

Now, I've been to Texas twice in my life. Once to Dallas and Arlington and the other time to Houston and Galveston. I did not expect such wide-open spaces! You can see for miles on end and then a few miles after that.

Texas is a beautiful state and so I did a little looking around to see what they have to offer and I found a cozy and romantic bed and breakfast near Austin and San Antonio in what is called Texas Hill country.

Let me show you around.

First is the very lovely Biscuit Hill bed and breakfast located less than a mile from Canyon Lake. Check the Web site for a view of what you'll see from the balcony.

There are two mini-suites, Lonestar and Highland and two suites, Americana and Captain's Bay. Have a look; the view is breathtaking!

First we have the Lone Star mini-suite, a lovely accommodation with a fireplace, king size bed and private lake view deck or the Highland suite, an exquisite room with antiques, in-room fireplace and Jacuzzi. The Americana is warm and inviting with its Colonial style furnishings, Franklin-type stove and four-poster bed and the Captain's Bay Suite is light and airy with a Cape Cod ambience. Enjoy the glass-paneled dining room and in-room fireplace. You'll also enjoy spectacular lake views from your private deck.

The hardwood floors, rich wood furnishings, antiques and warm quilts makes you want to snuggle up in front of the fireplace once you've stepped out of your private Jacuzzi.

There's plenty to do while visiting Biscuit Hill, just take a look at the activities page they've set up for your convenience. Makes me want to hop a plane and fly there tonight. So much to do from historic places, vineyards, golf course, stables, horse racing, wildlife reserve, antique shops and much more. Take a look at this hiking trail!

So you an see what events they have upcoming for the rest of the year, check out their Events calendar. In April, they have a visit to a winery scheduled for wine and cheese tasting and in May, a tour of several of the lavender farms is planned.

Biscuit Hill is truly a place to be considered the next time you're planning a vacation, weekend getaway or business trip.
