SuiteU Course: Victoria - A Pacific Paradise

When making plans for your next vacation, why not think of Canada? More specifically -- Victoria BC.

Named after Queen Victoria, this is the largest city on Vancouver Island (pop. 326,000) and is the capital of British Columbia. Victoria is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, and boasts the mildest climate in Canada and that is why it is aptly named the City of Gardens.

Victoria is known for its British atmosphere preserved in heritage buildings, double-decker buses and quaint shops. The downtown area is where you will find most of the heritage buildings in addition to the restored homes in the residential areas close to the city core.

The Inner Harbour is the hub of activity with numerous attractions within the radius of a few blocks. The streets are lined with flowers in the summer and outdoor cafes.

The outlying areas of the city offer a variety of activities such as lakes, regional parks, beaches and gardens. The wide-open spaces make it attractive for people who want to leave the hustle and bustle of the city.

Because Victoria is on an island, there are plenty of ocean beaches. There is lots of room for roaming and exploring without stepping on your neighbor!
