Helios: A Journey To The Land Of The Whispering Winds.surrounded their tiny village, the ship becomes blown astray from its' original orientation by a series of several harsh severe storms. The sailors are then thrust into a series of adventures with natural, unseen, almost supernatural forces. Before returning home the men will sail into twelve different journeys. Ulysses eventually returns home to find his estate ruined, his wife being taken advantage of by uncaring machiavellian like suitors, who have chosen to take up residence and plunder, choosing to pillage the lands of the warrior during the space and time of his abscense. The conclusion of The Odyssy occurs once Ulysses has returned restoring order in the midst of chaos. It is into this hallow shadowed world that Stephen has arrived; a murky world of space and time, whose dismal colors of perception merge into a pale greyish tone of uncertainty, for it is inside this lens of perception that the true nature of the mystery encompassing the answer to this existential question might be discovered. Among those clasps, locking this box that holds the key to the human imagination, once having been opened, after their internal remains have been unearthed from the subterranian chambers of ignorance, wisdom may abound her pages sailing through and air of proponderances to land safely on the other side of a wall of ineptic deluge. As the sailors in this mythic tale by Homer had to learn, Stephen must also determine the nature of these dangerous winds, and the proper course to navigate his allegorical ship to safety. He and his friends have unknowingly found themselves on a similar pilgrimage. Through fate their paths have converged. Whether accidental or some act by supernatural purpose, Stephen and his fellow travelers have found themselves in unfamiliar territories of the mind, whose oceans comprehend little boundaries in the realms of time-space. The edges of such infinital storms rage as endless tempests forever circling the open channels of mythos. Marilyn French comments on the strange neatherworld of the mind with these prophetic words, "To identify all times is to assert the circular nature of time, eternal recurrence, which underlies Ulysses as well as Finnegans Wake. The characters are pitted against this circle of time; what changes is the mode of perception only Zion forgets Kevin Egan, landlords change, buildings crumble, but things remain the same. Only the way we see them changes. Thus, a number of literary renderings of sexual banter occur in Oxen. On this level, Bloom and Stephen merge with their literary prototypes: all heroes are incarnations of the values of the civilizations that create them, and
