India was always an unbeaten team at home. Now that does not seem so true. Although we have not lost the series against England, but still they did give India things to worry about.
Spin to win, an old Indian formula has been criticized by many. Why prepare pitches that won't be found elsewhere in the world, other than the sub continent. But I say why not? Why not have a wickets that suit us? Isn't that what "Home advantage" is all about? So many years we suceeded with this formula. But now things are different. Visiting teams give us an hard time before we clinch the series. Why? Many say it is the inconsistent performance of our team. Some say it is the inexperience. Why are we so pathetic? We have the world's best batsman, some classy bowlers, then why? No answer. Ganguly definitely has the Damosceles sword hanging over his head. Is it time to cut the string then? No. A captain is only as good as the team. And even if Ganguly goes, then who? Dravid. What if Dravid is not too succesfull either? Changing captains is not going to change the teams performance. This is something we all have to remember. Ganguly is the best choice, and should be kept the helm for atleast another 2 years. What we need to do is to stick to players even though they fail. Batsmen are the key to any good side. A strong scoreboard gives even part time bowlers a chance to win the game. Go To Page: 1
