Hi Friends! As I laze in the shadow of the big neem tree in my compound I realise how good it is to be back in India. Its much hotter than my cool Canada but still.

I had the privelege of watching the Indian team in action at Colombo sans Sachin. I was very pleased with the line up although I cannot say the same about the result in the finals.

Without Sachin the team does lack the ace but in no way is it dependant on him. Finally sense has dawned upon the Indian selectors and we finally see young kids on the international arena. No doubt they will take their time. Not all are Sachin's, Dravids and Gangulys. We should aim towards the future and understand the importance of this new breed of players.

For it is they who will shape the future of the team.

Next week I will start profiling the new batsmen one by one!
