The purpose, as the name implies, is to encourage conservation of bats. It is the leader in this endeavor.

The BCI is also a leader in bat house research and has thousands of participants involved with the North American Bat House Research Project.

The quarterly newsletter includes and features bat photographs, the newest bat findings, gift catalogs, ecotours workshops and more.
