Soybean Candles: Natures Own Wonders

Soybeans, which seemingly can be fashioned into just about anything, have taken on yet another form. Slow burning, sweet smelling, soot-free candles. Researchers developed the refining process, which turns soybean oil into a wax that contains non of the petroleum-based paraffin in most candles.

Consumer Benefits

1. Are made with pure 100% natural soybean base with either botanical additives or all vegetable oils.
2. Contain no pesticides or herbicides.
3. Are a non-petroleum renewable resource
4. Are biodegradable and so safe their components are edible ( but not recommended)
5. Generally burn longer and cooler than paraffin candle waxes
6. Burn clean, with reduced carbon build up
7. Clean up with soap and hot water

Manufacturer Benefits

1 It enhances and holds essential oils perfectly
2 Works well with fragrance oils used in soaps and cosmetics for matched bath sets
3 Produces no bubbles when poured, requiring no mold tapping
4 Is easy to work with
5 Gentle on hands leaving them soft and smooth
6 Is a consistent, reliable and economical source of quality wax
7 Blends well with paraffin, beeswax and other natural waxes

Environmental Benefits

1. Soybean wax is made from renewable sustainable resources. This fact requires plants to be grown, not cut down nor depleated.
2. Soybean waxes are completely biodegradable helping to reduce landfill accumulation
3. Soybean wax burns cleaner, creating a greener environment, something we can all breath easier about.

Soybean wax can be found at just about any candle supply store now, it has begun to appear rapidly for about the last several months. Each store has their own blend, but the wax can be found in container blends and pillar blends. This should fit just about everyone’s needs at this time. All in all this is a wonderful new way to have beautiful candles all around us, without the chemical fumes and soot buildup of most other candles. Just a reminder, soybean candle wax is a little bit higher than your plain paraffin or your other one-pour waxes, but for the benefits it just might be worth it.
