Summer Fishing Readiness
5) Load your Truck/Car beforehand so you are not rushed when you plan on hitting the road. Load things up so they are safe and secure, and insure that there is no chance of anything blowing out or being knocked out of the boat. Also make sure everything in your tow vehicle is secure just in case you have to make a stop along the way. 6) Double-check everything. Ask yourself things like: Do I have my wallet, food, money, fishing license, drivers license, truck keys, boat plugs? Are trailer lights all in working order? 7) Take along a friend, a wife/husband, son, daughter, your boss, an in-law, an out-law -- take somebody, anybody -- someone that can and will swear to all of your lies once you are back. If you have a digital camera, even better! If you catch the big one, you can get a picture of your neighbor's! One last thing before I go…..and I am speaking from personal experience, don’t forget, and I repeat, don’t forget your BOAT KEYS! Here's my step-son, Tyler, with his first catch of the day on our last fishing outing. He prefers to fish with a bobber for the bluegill and crappies, but he brought in this nice little bass to start the day off RIGHT!
