This is the time of year when people gather together and try to outdo each other with their delicious creations. Don't be intimidated! Here are some recipes guaranteed to make them beg you for the recipe! Since this article is late yet again (I'm sorry; December is so insane at my house), I'm going to make these recipes so easy to make, you'll want to bake them again and again. How easy? They all start with a mix!
Ingredients: 1 box spice cake mix
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with foil. Combine cake mix, egg whites, oats and oil in large mixing bowl. Beat at low speed with electric mixer until blended. Stir in raisins. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Makes about 4 dozen cookies. The people at the Hershey Company knew that chocolate and peanut butter were an unbeatable combination. Here's an easy recipe that combines them perfectly. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies Ingredients: 1 box devil's food cake mix
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with foil. Combine cake mix, peanut butter, eggs and milk in large mixing bowl. Beat at low speed with electric mixer until blended. Stir in peanut butter pieces. Drop dough by slightly-rounded tablespoons onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Makes about 3-1/2 dozen cookies. The next recipe takes a little more time, but these cookies are definitely worth it! Enlist your kids to help you drizzle the chocolate on top. Cherry Surprises Ingredients: 1 package sugar cookie mix (such as Duncan Hines)
Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with foil Prepare cookies mix as direction on package. Shape thin layer of dough around each cherry. Place 2 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake 8 minutes or until set but not browned. Cool 1 minutes on cookie sheets; remove to cooling racks and cool completely. Combine chips and shortening in small resealable plastic bag. Place bag in bowl of hot water for several minutes. Dry bag with towel. Knead until blended and chocolate is smooth. Snip pinpoint hole in corner of bag. Drizzle chocolate over cookies. Allow drizzle to set before storing between layers of waxed paper in airtight container. Makes 3 to 3-1/2 dozen cookies.
