OK, you've taken the kids trick or treating, checked to make sure the candy is OK (and maybe pilfered a few of the best pieces for yourself) and put them to bed. Now it's your turn. Whether having a party or just planning on hanging out at home watching horror movies, these recipes will make you glad you're a grown-up - and may even compel you to return the Snickers bars to your child's plastic pumpkin.
These brownies combine the flavors of chocolate and orange, giving them a delicious twist from ordinary brownies. Grand Marnier Brownies Ingredients: 4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour an 8-inch square baking pan. Over low heat, melt chocolate and butter in a medium saucepan. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat and cool slightly. In a large bowl, beat sugars and eggs until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes with electric mixer). Add melted chocolate, 3 tablespoons of the Grand Marnier, vanilla and the orange peel, mixing until well blended. Mix in the flour, salt and chocolate chips (on low speed if using an electric mixer). Pour batter into prepared pan. Smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 until sides look done and top feels firm. Inserting a toothpick 2 inches from center should come out clean; however, center will jiggle and look undercooked. Remove from oven and brush top with the remaining 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier. Cover pan with foil or plastic and cool completely. Cut into 2 inch squares. Store covered at room temperature or they may be frozen. Defrost covered at room temperature. Use the Halloween/Fall colors M&Ms for this fun cookie with a more adult taste. M&M Cookies Ingredients: 1 cup butter or margarine
Cream the butter and the sugars using an electric mixer. Add eggs, vanilla and Kahlua; mix well. * Measure the oatmeal and blend in a blender to a fine powder. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in M&M's. Roll into balls and place two inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees F. Go To Page: 1 2
