"A mechanism of world inter-communication will be devised, embracing the whole planet, freed from national hindrances and restrictions, and functioning with a marvelous swiftness and perfect regularity." - Shoghi Effendi, WORLD ORDER OF BAHA'U'LLAH p. 203. This statement was made beofre 1937 and has been, I believe, realized today with the vast utilization of the Internet. Suite 101 is an example of the wealth of information available.
In two of my eariler articles (Sept. and Oct. of last year) I shared my various experiences with teaching the Baha'i Faith on-line. Now I would like to share some Baha'i resources on the web. The Baha'i Computer & Communication Association (BCCA) is a volunteer organization, overseeing Baha'i involvement not only on the Internet but with other types of computer applications. The Baha'i Faith is a comprehensive page which includes a brief history of the Faith and a list of links to many Baha'i Sites on the web. The Baha'i Ring Home Page is a site containing information about the Baha'i Ring and how to register a Baha'i Site on the ring. It also has access to the Baha'i Ring at the bottom of the page. It is an interesting way to surf the many Baha'i Sites available on the web. A Baha'i From Grover Beach, Ca. is my Baha'i Web Page. It not only links to some Baha'i Sites but also links to other parts of my site which may give some insight about me and my other interests. The Baha'i Faith contains a very comprehensive list of links to many of the Baha'i Sites, and they are orgainized in categories for easy research. Fasting, Software, and Miscellaneous has the means to calculate sun rise and sun set (helpful for the Baha'i Fast). It also has links to sites that feature software relevant to the Baha'i FAith. Ian Vink Software Although primarily a site for Ian to sell software, it does show what kind of Baha'i related software is available. ZDNet Downloads where you can dowload Immerse v 0.92. It is rated with three stars and is described as, "Immerse is a comprehensive electronic library of religious works from a variety of sources. It contains more than 200 books and documents from the Baha'i Faith, Christian Bible, Islamic Quran, Hindu Bhagavad-Gita, and Buddhist Dhammapada." And best of all, it's free. Go To Page: 1 2
