Núr University is the first authorized private school in Bolivia. It is also the first graduate school to be opened there. Although still under construction, its web site provides information on this university in both English and Spanish.

Permanent Non-academic Bahá'í Schools

These next items are school facilities that are owned by the Baha'i Faith and host both Baha'i and non-Baha'i classes and events. Unique among Baha'i Educational Institutions is the Baha'i Vocational Institute For Rural Women, located in Indore, India. Its classes are directed at a primarily non-Baha'i population. It was established in 1985 and is dedicated to uplifting the rural and tribal women in the surrounding area. Its web site is very informative as to this institute's goals and aims.

Bosch Bahá'í School is one of the oldest Baha'i schools in the United States. It is located in the mountains above Santa Cruz, Ca. This school is also a very popular location for many non-Baha'i groups to hold classes. Full information can be found on their web site. I've been to Bosch a number of times and have found their sessions to be very good. They also have recreational activities, including a swimming pool and a wading pool for use during the summer months. Bosch Bahá'í School also has a very complete bookstore with online search and purchasing available.

The de Poort Conference Center consists of a complex of buildings on a large area surrounded by woodland in the Netherlands. It is available for meetings, conferences, weekend workshops and other activities for both Baha'i and non-Baha'i groups. It has the approval of the Royal Dutch Touring Club and the Dutch Organization for Entrepreneurs in the Recreation Business. It is the home base for the Tahirih Institute. The Louhelen Bahá'í School is located in Davison, Michigan. It has been in operation since 1931. It offers numerous programs that teach many aspects of the Baha'i Faith and also serves as a retreat and conference center for Baha'is and non-Baha'is alike. Also featured at Louhelen is the Bookstore/Café, which contains a large variety of Baha'i-related books and serves as a gathering place for students. It serves special coffee, ice cream and other desserts. Please visit its web site for more information.

Alberta, Canada is the home of the Sylvan Lake Baha'i Conference and Training Centre. This center is "dedicated to the spiritual development of all people and the fostering of community life based on the Teachings of Baha'u'llah. It is especially dedicated to the spiritual education of children and the nurturing of the family: the foundation of civilization." The Centre has a half-mile front on Sylvan Lake and also contains a marsh and a bird sanctuary. Along with the various classes, there are many recreational activities, including canoe rentals.
